Doylestown is home to many historic buildings, most of which have been converted (under a careful eye for preservation) into professional offices and retail establishments.

In 1846, Jonas Knight occupied what is now 96 West State Street. Mr. Knight was a hatter by trade and made this particular building his home for his family, so it has been aptly named, "The Knight House." After his passing, several other families had occupied the house since, but little of their history is known.

You will note the layout of the house to be rather typical for the time period, and throughout, thoughtful decorations remind our guests of the way things once were. If you are interested in finding out more about historic Doylestown, you can contact the The Bucks County Historical Society. Before or after a meal at The Knight House, many people enjoy strolling the streets of Doylestown or catching a movie at The County Theater.
